PORT DICKSON: Four individuals were fined RM1,000 each for flouting the recovery movement control order (MCO) by failing to put on face masks while inside business premises here, says district police chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed.
A business operator was also issued a compound after his employees were found to be working without having their masks on.
Supt Aidi Sham said the compounds were issued by a task force conducting checks here and in Lukut on Friday (Oct 16).
"It is unfortunate that we still have some people who are bent on flouting the law and refusing to adhere to the standard operating procedures issued by the authorities to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
"On our part, we will continue with operations to conduct checks and compounds will be issued to those who violate the rules," he said.
The compounds were issued under Rule 11 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020.
The offenders will have to make payment to the Health Department within 14 days, failing which legal action will be taken against them.
"We would like to advise the public to always put on your face mask and to practise physical distancing when in any business premises," he said.
On Thursday (Oct 15), six individuals were fined here for the same offence.
