Just visiting neighbour: Annuar Musa downplays presence at PM's residence

PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Annuar Musa (pic) has downplayed his presence at Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's residence, saying that he was just paying a visit to his neighbour.

The Barisan Nasional secretary-general and Federal Territories Minister described the visit as a "normal" one.

"It was a normal visit. We live in the same neighbourhood, and I dropped by to see the Prime Minister," he said when contacted on Thursday (Oct 30).

He said he spent two hours with Muhyiddin and they talked about "normal and usual stuff".

Asked if they discussed work and the latest political development, Annuar said no.

"No... nothing like that. It was just a normal visit," he said.

News of Annuar's presence at Muhyiddin's house has piqued curiosity and raised questions especially since Umno has said it would consider withdrawing support for Perikatan Nasional.

It said it would be laying out new conditions to the government should the two sides want to continue their political cooperation.

Earlier in the day, Annuar called on politicians to focus more on issues affecting the rakyat and to spend less time jockeying for position.

On Tuesday (Oct 13), PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah where he presented his claim of having more than 120 MPs in his bid to become the prime minister.
