PETALING: The Health Ministry is looking for medical and health personnel to sign up as volunteers to help in its battle against a potential third wave of Covid-19 infections.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the ministry was looking to fill the position of medical doctors, scientific microbiologist officers, nurses, assistant medical officers, and medical lab technicians, among others.

The volunteers are needed to conduct temperature and symptoms checks at health facilities, contact tracing, and taking samples at Covid-19 centres and to take care of patients at hospitals, he posted on Facebook on Thursday (Oct 15).

Such individuals must be certified professionals, physically and mentally healthy, willing to be deployed at certain locations, and have no close contact history with Covid-19 cases over the last 14 days.
