Black liquid in PD monsoon drains is crude oil from damaged decommissioned pipe

Remedial works being carried out after the crude was flushed out from the decommissioned underground pipes.

SEREMBAN: The massive volume of black liquid believed to be crude oil found in monsoon drains in Port Dickson on Sunday leaked from decommissioned underground pipes, says state exco S. Veerapan.

The state environment, health, cooperatives and consumerism committee chairman said on Wednesday (Oct 7) that the pipes, which belonged to a refinery here, were damaged while the Public Works Department carried out works to build a drain.
