DAP bags six out of seven seats contested

KOTA KINABALU: DAP, which is part of the Warisan Plus alliance, won six out of the seven seats it contested.

The party, using the Warisan symbol, swept Luyang, Likas and Kapayan – which are urban seats here – Elopura and Tanjung Papat in Sandakan city as well as Sri Tanjong in Tawau town.

DAP lost its second attempt to win in Bingkor.

Phoong Jin Zhe retained the Luyang seat based on initial results, clinching 12,355 votes as at 7.25pm

Perikatan Nasional had 703 votes, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) 221 votes, PCS 131, Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah 52 and independent candidate 69.

Incumbent Jannie Lasimbang led in the Kapayan seat with 11,643 votes, followed by Barisan Nasional (1,502 votes), Gagasan (696), PBS (651), LDP (345), Parti Cinta Sabah (244) and Independent candidate (44).
