PETALING JAYA: Any attempt to stop Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim from meeting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is undemocratic and has exceeded normal boundaries, says PKR.

Party information chief Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said Anwar had sought an audience with the King before his announcement on Wednesday that he had obtained majority support from MPs.

“The King has given his consent for an audience at 11am on Tuesday but the meeting has to be postponed after His Majesty had to undergo treatment at IJN.

“This was confirmed by an official statement from the palace,” he said, referring to the National Heart Institute.

Yesterday, Malay daily Kosmo! quoted Istana Negara Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin as saying that based on medical advice, the treatment was expected to take a week.
