MELAKA: Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali has been conferred an honorary doctorate by a local higher learning institution.
He received an Honorary Doctorate in Management from Lincoln University College (LUC) at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (Sept 26).
Sulaiman, who was sworn in as Chief Minister on March 9, admitted he had faced tough times since taking over the state administration.
"I had to face three crises simultaneously and none were easy to manage," he said after receiving the doctorate.
Sulaiman said the Covid -19 pandemic, water rationing and political infighting had placed him in a dilemma.
"This was an unprecedented challenge for me and I had to work long hours to resolve each of the issues as well as criticisms levelled at me," he said.
Sulaiman also pledged to implement a slew of initiatives and plans to usher in the state's economic recovery.
