PETALING JAYA: Putrajaya MP Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (pic) denies he is supporting Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's move to form a new government.
Tengku Adnan said he remained firm with Umno's collective decision not to support Anwar as a candidate for prime minister.
He said this in response to a list being circulated on social media of 19 Umno MPs who are allegedly supporting Anwar as the next prime minister.
Tengku Adnan said his name was listed in Anwar's shadow cabinet as the primary industries minister.
"I am not supporting Anwar. I will remain true to Umno and Barisan Nasional," he said in a video statement posted on Facebook Friday (Sept 25).
Several Umno MPs, whose names are on the list, have also denied supporting Anwar.
They include Besut MP Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, Parit MP Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria, and Padang Terap MP Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, whose name was also on the list, had said that MPs from the party were free to support Anwar.
Pekan MP Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's name was also on the list.
