KOTA KINABALU: A total of 400 Filipino illegal immigrants were sent back to their country during a deportation exercise yesterday.
The illegal immigrants were deported via the Sandakan jetty to Zamboanga, the Philippines.
National Security Council director for Sabah Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said it was the 27th sea deportation in Sabah this year.
“We have sent back 6,859 immigrants via air routes to Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, South Korea and other countries, ” she said.
