KOTA KINABALU: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star Sabah) president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan says the caretaker state government has fallen because they do not have the strength to lead, thus losing the confidence of elected representatives who threw their support on Warisan Plus.

"A state government that does not have ties with the Federal Government, will not be able to solve the illegals issue.

"We want to be with a Federal Government who can restore Sabah's rights... The past Federal Government only created committees to discuss on this matter, but now we have a chance to implement solutions.

"People said I was not as vocal, as anti-federal as before, but I am at a different stage now - If they (Federal Government) have already accepted and made commitment to solve the illegals issue, why do I still need to make noise?" Jeffrey reasoned.

Moreover, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will be the saviour of Sabah, after caretaker government Warisan Plus failed in taking care of the State, said Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) deputy president Arthur Joseph Kurup.

Speaking at the GRS Ceramah Perdana at Putatan on Thursday night (Sept 24), the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) said GRS, which include Perikatan Nasional - Barisan Nasional allies who are administering Federal Government, will ensure stability, as they have proven so at the federal level.

"The leaders sitting here tonight led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, are our saviours.

"At federal level, Pakatan Harapan had the golden opportunity in the past to prove themselves, but they were too busy fighting over the PM's post.

"That is why we are here, led by Muhyiddin, to save Malaysia.

"And now, GRS will be the saviour of Sabah," he stressed.

Arthur reminded that Warisan Plus has failed to ensure economic stability for Sabah, even before the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Why do we keep following those who failed?

"This is not the time to gamble the future with losers.

"We deserve a state government that could take care of our welfare... We do not have time to bicker with federal, and we need to coordinate with them to ensure stability," Arthur said.

Other Kadazandusun Murut (KDM) leaders under GRS also shared the same sentiment in being in line with the Federal Government.

They believed it was time to choose a 'mesra rakyat' (people-centric) government, instead of a 'mesra pendatang tanpa izin' (illegals-friendly) coalition.

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) secretary general Datuk Jahid Jahim said the agenda of saving Sabah is very important for the future generation.

"I can see the seriousness of the leaders here today to see this happen.

"So, I call on the younger generation, who will be bombarded with incitements in Facebook, WhatsApp, to reject them.

"Reject leaders who lie... They are not suitable for you," stressed Jahid.
