PETALING JAYA: All 18 PAS MPs are fully behind Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the Prime Minister, says Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (pic).
“PAS is reiterating the full support of our 18 MPs for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the rightful Prime Minister under the Federal Constitution.
“At the same time, PAS will continue to strengthen its loyalty within Muafakat Nasional and Perikatan Nasional, ” Hadi said.
He also urged the people to support efforts by the Perikatan government in battling the Covid-19 pandemic and revitalising the economy.
Earlier yesterday, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur that he had the support to form the next government but did not reveal the numbers.
In Putrajaya, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man challenged Anwar to back his claim.
“PAS backs the Perikatan government and any claim that our people will jump ship does not arise.
“I would like to challenge him (Anwar) to list out the names of all the MPs that he claims are supporting him, ” said Tuan Ibrahim at a press conference at his ministry’s World Ozone Day 2020 celebrations.
The Environment and Water Minister said the weekly Cabinet meeting had spoken about the issue briefly.
“We discussed it in passing, it is not a huge issue. The fact that all party secretaries-general have issued a statement on this, for me, is enough, ” he said.
