IPOH: A 26-year-old man died after his car crashed into a traffic light in Sungkai.
Tapah OCPD Supt Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said the accident took place at 11.45am along Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Sept 22).
“The driver Muhammad Amirul Hakim Alya, was sent to Klinik Kesihatan Sungkai before he was pronouced dead at 12.40pm.
“His co-worker, Nurul Musfirah Ishak, 25, was the only passenger in the car, and she suffered injuries on her chest and left leg.
“She was brought to Slim River hospital to receive further treatment, ” he said, adding that a post-mortem was conducted at 3pm at Tapah Hospital.
It is believed that the car, which was heading to Tapah from Tanjung Malim, lost control before it hit the traffic light.
