KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional candidate for Bongawan Ag Syairin Ag Bakar is not afraid to face former Umno strongman Datuk Seri Anifah Aman in the state polls.

He said he has followed Anifah on his campaigns and party programmes, and understands the situation.

He is confident that his experience as a local district officer for Banggi and assistant district officer for Bongawan will give him an edge against Anifah and two other rivals.

Apart from Anifah, who is standing under Parti Cinta Sabah’s ticket, Syairin will also face Warisan’s Daud Yusof and Mohd Azree Abd Ghani (LDP).

“Daud is my relative, we are close, so family is family, politics is politics, don’t put two things together, ” Syairin said.

He urged the people to give Barisan a chance to prove that it can do a better job than Warisan and its partners.
