New unit to ensure consistent aid for Chinese schools


KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Sarawak government is allocating RM8mil in aid of Chinese primary schools, under a new unit set up to manage financial assistance to these schools.Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said the unit, to be headed by the state Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, would enable the state government to provide financial assistance consistently to Chinese schools.

Abang Johari said the state government agreed to form the unit at the request of the Association of the Boards of Management of Aided Chinese Primary Schools in the Kuching, Samarahan and Serian divisions.
