KOTA KINABALU: Those who are appointed as ministers under the new state government must have their administration blueprint ready in order to give a clear direction for the state, says Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (pic).
“This is among the plans to be implemented if our coalition wins in the state polls, ” he said.
Bung Moktar added that civil servants needed strategic planning to be laid out for them so that their work could be felt at the grassroots level.
“Among the programmes to be intensified is agriculture according to zones.
“We want to ensure this sector thrives in a systemic manner.
“That is in our game plan and much more.
“We have actually prepared such a blueprint but of course we are not disclosing it yet, ” said the candidate for the new Lamag seat after meeting with Barisan leaders at Bukit Garam voting district centre late Sunday.
Bung Moktar also said that unemployment in Sabah was due to a lack of outside investors.
He said it did not help that the caretaker government had delayed the Pan Borneo Highway project.
“This is because the mega project was one of the anticipated socio-economic growth drivers in Sabah.
“We have the Pan Borneo Highway, which was supposed to be completed by 2023, but the Warisan Plus government has delayed it and now the 2023 target will not be achieved.
“Hence, the job opportunities are gone, ” he said, adding that part of Barisan’s plan was to provide employment opportunities to the youth, especially in the Kinabatangan district.
