Upko denies involvement with quarters outside Warisan Plus

KOTA KINABALU: United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) has denied having any involvement with parties or candidates other than those in the Warisan Plus pact during the Sabah state election.

The party issued a media release on Sunday (Sept 13), right after Parti Warisan Sabah made a statement saying they were not involved in sponsoring any independent candidates.

Upko information chief Albert Bingkasan said the party would not hesitate to take legal action against quarters trying to misuse the name of Upko.

"Upko has taken note of several e-posters of rival opposition candidates being circulated, depicting as if the election materials were made in Upko headquarters office.

"We deny this as Upko never issued any e-poster for candidates other than Upko's own.

"We will take legal action on those using the party's name without permission," he added.
