PETALING JAYA: MCA is determined to bring the voices of the people to the Sabah assembly if the party is given the mandate in the state election, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic).

The MCA president said there have been many complaints from the locals that their woes remain unsolved.

“We received many complaints from the residents and (we are) determined to bring their voices to the state assembly if given the mandate this time,” he said after visiting the low-cost housing area in Kapayan together with Barisan Nasional and MCA candidate Lu Yen Tung here Sunday (Sept 13).

Lu is also the Kapayan MCA division chief.

Dr Wee said Lu is a familiar name to the people in Kapayan as he was the special assistant to former Kapayan assemblyman Datuk Seri Panglima Edward Khoo from 2004 to 2013.

“After Barisan lost to DAP in Kapayan (in the last general election), many local issues were not taken care of by the assemblyman although they were part of the ruling government since 2018.

“Lu will instead fight for the people in Kapayan, help them solve their problems and bring development to the constituency,” he added.
