PETALING JAYA: This Malaysia Day, a Mandarin-speaking, lion-dancing Malay teenager wants fellow Malaysians to unite, while breaking racial barriers one at a time.

Ahmad Syahmi Mirza Ahmad Fadhil, 19, certainly has the “credentials” to make such a call as he has put in effort to learn other cultural practices.
