PETALING JAYA: The unemployment rate has dropped two months in a row due to the economy’s reopening and rejuvenation during the recovery movement control order (MCO) period despite there being 745,100 people who are still unemployed.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said according to the Labour Force Statistics of July released by the Statistics Department, the national unemployment rate lowered to 4.7% in July after being at its highest in May at 5.3%. The rate in June was 4.9%.
