KOTA KINABALU: DAP has sacked a party member for contesting in the Bingkor state seat under the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) banner.

DAP disciplinary committee chairman Chong Chieng Jen (pic) said Julius Favianus’ membership has been terminated with immediate effect.

He said Julius breached the party’s disciplinary code by standing in Bingkor for the state elections on Sept 26, as Warisan Plus had already decided that the seat should be contested by DAP using Warisan’s logo.

“Any party member standing as a candidate against the agreement reached by Warisan Plus coalition partners is (being) insubordinate and undisciplined.

“It is also an act of betrayal of the people’s wish to retain the Warisan Plus-led state government, ” he said in a statement Saturday (Sept 12), after nominations for the state polls were held.
