KLANG: Preparations are underway for members of four non-governmental organisations (NGOs) linked to former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali (pic) to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.
The four organisations are Penggerak Komuniti Negara, Nation of Women, Pemuda Negara and Wanita Muda Negara.
Nation of Women chief Haniza Talha said her organisation had already received membership forms from the Bersatu headquarters.
“Since they do not have online membership registration yet, we have to fill up the forms and send them in, ’’ said Haniza when contacted.
She added her organisation has left it to its members to decide whether or not to join Bersatu.
“Nation of Women has members from all walks of life. Some are politically inclined while some aren’t.
“For those who are keen to join Bersatu, we will help them to fill up the membership forms and submit it to the party, ’’ said Haniza.
As for herself, Haniza said she will be tendering in her membership form soon.
“I met up with the Ulu Kelang Bersatu members and they were very welcoming.
“I’ll be joining them very soon, ’’ said Haniza, adding that Nation of Women has about 30,000 members to date.
Former PKR Youth vice-chief Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus said he would be emulating Azmin and former PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin by joining Bersatu.
Both Azmin and Zuraida had officially joined Bersatu recently.
“I am now the Negri Sembilan Penggerak Komuniti Negara chief and I have met up and discussed our interest in joining the party with the state Bersatu leadership, ’’ said Nazree when contacted.
He added his ultimate goal in joining Bersatu was to support party president and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as well as Azmin and Zuraida.
“When we join Bersatu, it is also to strive in working towards a victory in the next general election, ’’ said Nazree.
He added the NGO’s Negri Sembilan chapter has about 4,000 members.
Both Haniza and Nazree were expelled from PKR earlier this year.
