WITH bamboo-based structures and dozens of Jalur Gemilang flags decorating the area in Bukit Taisho in Bahau, Negri Sembilan, the scenic hill has now become increasingly popular among hikers as it has become a symbol of the Malaysian spirit, Utusan Malaysia reported.

According to the deputy chairman of the Bukit Taisho Travel Club, Alwi Alias, the location went viral on social media and people have started to come every week.

“What is more interesting is that the hill’s Chinese landowners not only welcomed the multiracial community to the area without any payment but have also supported them by decorating the hilltop.

“For more than three years, about RM10,000 has been collected through club members and individual contributions and was put to use to provide various attractions and decorations at the top of Bukit Taisho such as huts, seats and even hammocks, ” he said.

Alwi said Bukit Taisho’s Travel Club has seven committee members of whom four are Chinese and three are Malay.

“Our members’ age range from the 30s to 70s, all of whom worked together to decorate the hill.

“In fact, some climbers also helped us make various constructions without any charge, ” he said, adding that Bukit Taisho has now become one of the tourist attractions in Negri Sembilan visited by many locals.
