BATU PAHAT: Six people - including three young children - were hurt during a midnight fire that broke out at a house in Taman Putra Indah here.
Penggaram Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Saifulle Idris said the fire burnt through about 70% of the double-storey house located along Jalan Putra Indah 1/6 in the 1am incident on Sunday (Sept 6).
He added that two of the victims, a 50-year-old woman and four-year-old boy were found unconscious when a team of 24 firefighters arrived at the scene.
“The other victims were a 28-year-old woman, a three-year-old boy, a four-month-old baby and a 30-year-old Indonesian woman, all of whom were also injured in the incident.
“The victims were rescued and carried down by the firefighters via a ladder through the second floor window, ” he said, adding that they were sent to Hospital Batu Pahat for medical treatment.
Saifulle added that the fire was put out completely around 3am and investigation is ongoing to find the cause of fire.
