MMEA detains vessel for illegally anchoring in Tanjung Piai waters


PONTIAN: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has detained an Equatorial Guinea-registered vessel for illegally anchoring in Tanjung Piai waters here.

Johor MMEA director First Admiral Nurul Hizam Zakaria (pic) said the 23m-long vessel carrying 80 tonnes of marine diesel oil was spotted by a patrolling unit some 4.1 nautical miles southeast of Tanjung Piai at 11.44am Sunday (Sept 6).
