New detainees in Lahad Datu to be relocated

KOTA KINABALU: New detainees in Lahad Datu will be placed at two other police station lockups following the Benteng Lahad Datu cluster discovery.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said the two lockups were in the Cenderawasih and Tungku police stations, where each could accommodate up to 30 detainees.

“The 107 detainees at the Lahad Datu police lockup, comprising 102 men and five women, and the 77 police personnel and their families have been tested for Covid-19.

“So far, all police personnel and their family members were found to be negative but were placed under home quarantine,” he told reporters after the handing over of duties to the new commander of the Eastern Sabah Security Command, Datuk Ahmad Fuad Othman.
