JOHOR BARU: Johor water operator Ranhill SAJ Sdn Bhd (Ranhill SAJ) has sent 10 tanks of water to help those affected by the water disruption in the Klang Valley.

SAJ Ranhill chief executive officer Nor Ifuan Md Nor said the water was to help Air Selangor in distributing it to areas affected by water pollution in Sungai Gong, Selangor.

"Ranhill SAJ and Air Selangor have worked together to distribute the water to affected areas.

"This is part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) and understanding among water operators in the country," he said in a statement.

He added that according to Air Selangor, the water disruption had affected 1.2 million accounts in Klang Valley and is expected to go on for at least four days.

"The water supply will only resume when the threshold odour number (TON) reading at the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3 and Rantau Panjang falls to zero," he said.

The water treatment plants resumed operation on Friday night (Sept 4).
