KUALA LUMPUR: It was a walk down memory lane at the Merdeka Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station located near Stadium Merdeka here where the proclamation of Independence first took place at the stadium.

A group of Malaysians came wearing traditional costumes of various races, while the cries of “Merdeka” echoed seven times, reigniting the spirit of patriotism of the people present at the site.
