KLANG: More than RM1.3mil worth of seized items from entertainment outlets, illegal gambling dens and snooker centres were destroyed by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK).

The haul of 359 items seized were from enforcement operations conducted over a two-year period spanning 2017 and 2018.

The items consisted of audio video systems, gambling machines, snooker equipment and articles from cyber cafes, all of which were unlicensed.

“These items were confiscated following enforcement action taken by the MPK, North Klang district police headquarters and the South Klang district police headquarters, ” said MPK president Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.

The seizures were made under the Selangor Entertainment and Entertainment Premises Enactment 1995 (Amendment 1998 and 2001), and Entertainment and Entertainment Premises Regulations (Snooker and Video Games) (Control and Supervision) 1996.

On a separate matter, Fadzli said that 404 seized items from joint-operations between last November until February 2020 on hawkers and traders were also auctioned off for a combined value of RM10,325.
