2,000 M’sian students enrol in Taiwan varsities

SOME 2,000 students from Malaysia will be pursuing their undergraduate studies in Taiwan this year despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Sin Chew Daily reported.

According to the Malaysia Federation of Alumni Association of Taiwan Universities, Taiwan decided in June to accept foreign students from countries which had done well to curb the spread of the virus, including Malaysia.

“After receiving the news, we started to make preparations. In less than two months, we managed to help most students sort out the administrative work, ” said its president Datuk Lawrence Ting Siew Haw.Problems arising from the shortage of flights, visa issues and Covid-19 prevention standard operating procedures were sorted out by the federation.
