Beware of scams using our name, says MHS


THE Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) has urged the community to be aware of a scam that is using its name to con people, Makkal Osai reported.MHS president Datuk R.S. Mohan Shan said the scammers were targeting the lower income group.

The unknown person or persons call the “targets” and identify themselves as “Datuk Raju” from MHS.

The victims were told that the individual can help them get financial assistance from MHS but the victims have to bank in a certain amount of money to get the help.

The MHS has received several reports of such scams and he clarified that there was no such scheme or person representing them.

When Letchumi Nirala’s daughter-in-law suddenly left home with the child last week, the family began looking for them but could not find them.

During this time Letchumi was apparently advised that she should pray and cut off her tongue as an offering to help bring them back.

Doctors who treated Letchumi said she has lost her ability to speak.
