Dr Wee meets with cabbies, learns of issues facing them


PETALING JAYA: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong took time to learn about the issues faced by the country’s cabbies in a meeting with industry players on Wednesday (Aug 19).

Dr Wee met with representatives from Gabungan Pertubuhan Teksi, Kereta Sewa, Limosin dan Teksi Lapangan Terbang SeMalaysia (GTSM), led by Kamarudin Mohd Hussain, at his office in Putrajaya.

“GTSM has raised several issues regarding the direction of the country’s taxi industry.

“I stressed that each industry player will get serious attention from the Transport Ministry, especially as we are trying to help the country recover post Covid-19, ” said Dr Wee in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Aug 19).

At the end of the meeting, Dr Wee also handed a contribution of 2,000 face masks to the GTSM.
