SERDANG: A 10-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital after she was found unconscious at a babysitter's house.

Unfortunately, the baby was pronounced "brain dead" by doctors and passed away three days later on Friday (Aug 14).

"The baby was unconscious when found at the babysitter's house in Bandar Puchong Jaya. Preliminary checks by a doctor at Sunway Hospital showed that the victim had bleeding in the head area. Signs suggested suspected abuse.

"A post-mortem was conducted on Saturday (Aug 15) and it showed that the bleeding was caused by a fall from a high place. No signs of abuse were found during the postmortem," said Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Ismadi Borhan in a statement on Saturday.

He added that investigations showed the victim had fallen twice, in her own home and at the babysitter's house previously.

'No elements of abuse were found. However, investigations are still ongoing," he said.
