Child car safety seats, land ownership among highlights in Parliament on Wednesday (Aug 12)

KUALA LUMPUR: Child car safety seats, free digital TV service and ownership of land are among the issues to be raised in Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Aug 12).

Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris (Bersatu-Libaran) will be asking Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong the extent of the implementation of the child restraint systems (CRS) policy which came into effect on Jan 1 this year.

Zakaria also wants to know if the Ministry intends to extend its implementation to the public transport sector.

Dr Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh (PAS-Pasir Puteh) will be asking Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah the measures taken by the Ministry to ensure that the rakyat is satisfied with the quality and coverage of Digital TV broadcasting services provided through myFreeview.

Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan (BN-Pontian) wants to know from Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah about ownership of land held by the respective communities according to urban and rural areas.

Ahmad also wants to know the total area of Malay reserve land in every state as well as whether the Ministry intends to increase it.

The Dewan Rakyat meeting began on July 13 and will convene till Aug 27.
