GEORGE TOWN: Contact tracing involving more than 100 people has been made in relation to the positive Covid-19 cases reported in Penang on Sunday (Aug 9), says Chow Kon Yeow (pic).
“Testing has been done and most are negative. There are a few more waiting for the results.
“It is necessary for contact tracing, testing, isolation and if necessary, treatment (for those tested positive),” said the Penang Chief Minister during a press conference here on Sunday.
Penang reported one positive Covid-19 case on Friday (Aug 7), removing the state’s green zone status that has been maintained for more than 90 days.
On Sunday, Penang reported three more positive Covid-19 cases, two of which were linked to the Kedah Sivagangga cluster and one under the new cluster in Perak.
The total number of infections in the state increased to 125 as of Aug 9.
