KUCHING: Grassroots leaders in Sarawak will be roped in to help the authorities manage the Covid-19 outbreak in their respective villages under a newly-introduced community policing programme.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said the programme would also empower village development and security committees (JKKKs) to assist in managing security and other disasters.“With community policing, they become the eyes and ears of agencies such as the police and Health Department.
