In Parliament today: Flying car, new villages and Covid-19 lay-offs

KUALA LUMPUR: The flying car project, Chinese new villages and employers' treatment of employees during the Covid-19 pandemic are among issues to be raised in Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Aug 5).

Datuk Wira Dr Mohd Hatta Md. Ramli (Amanah-Lumut) will be asking Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar during Oral Question Time the latest progress on development of the flying car project.

He wants to know if the project, mooted by the previous Pakatan Harapan administration, is still ongoing.

Cha Kee Chin (PH-Rasah) is raising the issue of allocation for Kampung Baru Cina nationwide with Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin.

He also wants to know the amount and mechanism used to distribute the federal allocation.

Meanwhile, Datuk Hasbullah Osman (BN-Gerik) will be asking Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri M.Saravanan if his ministry is satisfied with employers compliance with the government's instructions related to Covid-19 pandemic so that no employees were laid off or asked to take unpaid leave.

The Dewan Rakyat will see the resumption of Ministerial Replies on issues raised by MPs during debates on the motion of thanks on the Royal Address.

Dewan Rakyat started on July 13 and will meet till Aug 27.
