PETALING JAYA: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong distributed face masks to visitors and officers at the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras branch on Tuesday (Aug 4) morning.
Dr Wee, who had paid a visit to the JPJ branch, said that he was informed by branch chief Noraini Mohd Nawi that the branch receives 800 customers and has 30 officers on duty daily since it started operations in 2006.
While he was there, Dr Wee said he found that many people had dealings with the branch on various matters such as by taking the opportunity to pay their JPJ and the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) summonses.
"At the same time, I too distributed face masks to the officers who were on duty as well as the customers who were there and to remind them to always comply with the standard operating procedures in place to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic," he said on his Facebook page on Tuesday (Aug 4).
Separately, on another Facebook post, Dr Wee also said he paid his respects to former Alor Gajah MP Datuk Koh Nai Kwong's mother who passed away two days ago.
He added that he went to the funeral together with International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) deputy minister and MCA Melaka president Datuk Lim Ban Hong, former Melaka exco Datuk Lai Meng Chong and Senator Lee Tian Seng.
