PETALING JAYA: A police raid at a restaurant here led to the discovery of contraband alcohol and cigarettes.

District OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, in a statement on Wednesday (July 29), said that the restaurant in Jalan SS21/39 was raided earlier at noon.

"One man and three foreign women were arrested after they failed to show any valid documents to operate the restaurant.

"Further checks led to the discovery of several bottles of alcohol without Customs authentication and boxes of suspected smuggled cigarettes," he said.

He added that all suspects had been remanded.
