KEPALA BATAS: The organiser of the Mahabbah@Aidiladha Carnival beside a hypermarket in Bertam has been slapped with RM1,000 fine after he was found to have broken almost all the standard movement control order (MCO) guidelines.

"The 48-year-old operator failed to prepare dedicated entry and exit points or ensure sufficient social distancing at the venue.

"There was also no temperature scanning or recording of visitor details for contact tracing upon their arrival.

"We found no action taken by the operator to control the number of visitors within the crowd," said North Seberang Perai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor on Thursday (July 23).

He said the inspection, led by a task force from north Seberang Prai police headquarters and enforcement officers from the Health Ministry, was conducted at 10.30pm on Wednesday.

"The team conducted surveillance and found the organiser failed to comply with the required standard operating procedures.

"We will propose that the Seberang Prai City Council retract the organising license due to the violation during this recovery MCO period," added ACP Noorzainy.
