PETALING JAYA: The Transport Ministry is ready to help revive the tourism industry hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, says Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He said the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has been instructed to ease the procedures for the permit and licence applications for public transport operators, including in the tourism industry.

Dr Wee said this following a meeting with the Malaysian Tourism Council honorary secretary Datuk Seri Razali Mohd Sham at the Transport Ministry on Saturday.

“We discussed measures that need to be taken to revive the tourism sector, especially domestic tourism,” Dr Wee said in a Facebook post.

“The ministry is ready to help the tourism industry players in all forms possible,” he added.
