SIBU: A motorcyclist paid for his life for not wearing a helmet on Sunday (July 19).

The unemployed man died after his vehicle collided head-on with a four-wheel-drive at Jalan Salim-Stabau, here.

Sibu deputy OCPD Supt Collin Babat said in the 7pm accident, the deceased, Riccie Balin, 33, was heading towards the Durin Bridge along Jalan Salim-Stabau.

"He was not wearing a helmet. He had tried to overtake a car in front of him, but collided with a four-wheel-drive which was travelling from the opposite direction," he added.

Supt Collin said the man died on the spot while the 53-year-old driver of the four-wheel-drive was admitted to the hospital with bodily injury, he added.
