KUALA LUMPUR: The Fire and Rescue Department here was kept busy with several reports of fallen trees in a few areas here following thunderstorms and strong winds.
The fallen trees caused property damage when the storm hit Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (July 18) at about 5pm.
No loss of lives was reported.
"One of the trees fell and hit the kitchen area of a house in Taman Tun Dr Ismail but no one was injured," a department spokesman said, adding fallen trees also damaged several vehicles in Sentul and Kepong.
The spokesman said the department also received a report about a durian tree that fell on the road in Taman Sri Rampai.
Meanwhile, bad weather also caused flash floods in Kampung Masjid at Jalan Segambut Dalam, with waters reaching to about 0.3m.
The department will continue monitoring areas for incidents following the storm.
