KUALA LUMPUR: The possibility of introducing e-voting for the coming general election and commitment towards fighting corruption are among the issues to be raised in the Dewan Rakyat Thursday (July 16).

Padang Terap MP Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid from Umno wants to know if the Election Commission (EC) is prepared for the possibility of having a general election.

He also asked what is the status of the proposal to use e-voting as an alternative to conventional voting post Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Beaufort MP Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, who is also from Umno, is asking if the government is committed to fighting corruption.

She wants to know this as the government's efforts have been focused on tackling the economy and health issues in recent months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

She also asked what is the status of the National Anti-Corruption Plan following its implementation in January last year.

Lawmakers will also resume debates on the motion of thanks on the Royal Address, which ends on July 29.

The Dewan Rakyat, which began on Monday (July 13), will sit for 25 days until Aug 27.
