KUALA LUMPUR: Experts and workers groups are calling for more to be done to address the issue of poverty in the country despite Malaysia’s much lauded move to revise its national poverty line income (PLI).
Commending the move to revise the PLI from RM980 in monthly household income to RM2,208, former United Nations Special Rapporteur Philip Alston urged the government to do more to address the issue in the next Malaysia Plan.
