PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister has reminded Malaysian diplomats on the need to boost bilateral trade and investment, which has become challenging in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that efforts need to be made to attract investments to Malaysia and as ambassadors, they played an important role in luring investors here.

This was his message to the four ambassadors-designate and a High Commissioner when they called on him yesterday.

They were ambassadors-designate to Russia Datuk Bala Chandran Tharman, Abu Bakar Mamat (Chile), Sazali Mustafa Kamal (Turkey), Zamshari Shaharan (Qatar) and the newly appointed High Commissioner to Bangladesh Haznah Md Hashim.

“They should also enhance the value of trade and investment by promoting Malaysia’s tourism, science, education and information technology sectors,” he said in a Facebook post.
