PETALING JAYA: In a bid to instill optimism among travellers, the Malaysia Aviation Group has launched the “Fly Confidently” campaign to raise public awareness on health and safety measures taken by the group.
The campaign will be adopted by all airlines under the group, namely Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB), Firefly and MASwings.
A set of clear and concise infographic guidelines and resources will be made available on each of the respective airlines’ official website and social media platforms.
As part of the campaign, Malaysia Airlines released a 4-minute-20 second clip entitled “Fly Confidently, Fly Malaysia” on its social media platforms, where it showcased its passengers on their journey for departure or arrival at KLIA.
“It begins from home, where passengers perform contactless check-in through the airlines’ mobile app or website, followed by a walkthrough of the enhanced safety and health measures at MAB’s main hub in KLIA, ” it said in a statement Wednesday (July 8).
The video also featured heightened safety and public health measures by MAB in collaboration with Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB), the Immigration and Customs Department at several customer touch points.
“These include check-in counters, Immigration and Custom areas, Golden Lounges, boarding gate, in-flight and baggage collection areas, ” it added.
The Malaysia Aviation Group also said measures highlighted in the video is to comply to the guidelines set by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), World Health Organisation (WHO), International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Health Ministry.
The guidelines, which are customised to the airlines’ requirements in facilitating travel under the “new normal” include educating passengers on the latest requirements through various communication and the need to enforce social distancing whenever possible.
It also requires passengers to wear face masks at all times, as well as increasing the routine sanitation of self-service kiosks, check-in counters, airline and airport facilities.
Thermal scanners via contactless thermometers will be available to screen passengers who are required to scan the QR code of the MySejahtera app to update their information.
Malaysia Aviation Group chief executive officer Izham Ismail said the safety and wellbeing of passengers and employees are paramount to them, hence the launch of the “Fly Confidently” campaign.
“Under this campaign, we produced a series of communication resources such as infographics, travel checklist and advisories which are available on our website.
“Passengers can also refer to these materials to understand the steps they can take to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.”
