They said the majority of the members from 32 branches in Buntong remain staunch DAP supporters.

Taman Cherry Buntong branch deputy chairman S. Kolandaisamy, 83, also denied claims that some 600 members from 21 branches had joined Gerakan.

When contacted Sivasubramaniam said the 40 branches include the surrounding areas of Buntong before the re-delineation exercise in the last general election.
He said some of the branches were placed under the Batu Gajah constituency, but the members were still on his side.
He claimed all the top office bearers from the branches were on his side.
“We will be sending letters to the Registrar of Societies soon to close down the branches.
“Ordinary members who are not with us, can always join other DAP branches, ” he added.
On March 9, it was reported that three assemblymen from Perak Pakatan Harapan had declared themselves independents.
They were Sivasubramaniam, Paul Yong Choo Kiong (DAP-Tronoh) and Hasnul Zulkarnain Abdul Munaim (Amanah-Titi Serong).
