JOHOR BARU: The Health Ministry is awaiting a report from the Johor Health Department on the possibility of a third Japanese encephalitis (JE) infection in the country.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba (pic) says the full report is expected today.
The Penang Health Department reported on Thursday about two cases of JE infection in the state, namely in Sungai Bakap within Seberang Prai Selatan.
On another matter, Dr Adham said Malaysia was in touch with other countries that were working on a vaccine for Covid-19.
“We are looking forward to conducting our own clinical trial based on information from the countries that have conducted phase one and two of the trial, ” he said after officiating a ceremony at the Bukit Indah health clinic here yesterday.
The RM15mil facility, expected to be open in Augues, can cater to 500 patients per day. It will serve about 65,000 people living in Johor Baru.
