KUALA LUMPUR: Hannah Yeoh has surrendered her mobile phone and social media login details to police as investigations continue into a social media post about the National Strategic Plan on the causes of child marriage.
The Segambut MP arrived at Bukit Aman at 9.53am accompanied by her lawyers – Gobind Singh Deo and Syahredzan Johan – and spent about an hour recording her statement at the police headquarters.Addressing pressmen waiting outside Bukit Aman’s gates around noon yesterday, Gobind said the former deputy women, family and community development minister gave her full cooperation to police.
“We want to thank the police who conducted the process professionally. They also said we might be called up again if necessary and we are always ready to cooperate,” he said, adding that police did not give a definite time.
Gobind said Yeoh’s mobile phone was taken in the process to aid with investigations and she had also provided them with login details to her Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Gobind, who is also Puchong MP, said they remained firm on the stand that there was no wrongdoing and left it to the police to further investigate.
He also believed Yeoh provided police with all the necessary information for the investigation and was prepared to step forward with more if required.
