KUALA KANGSAR: Three family members, including a two-year-old boy, were killed when the car they were in collided head-on with a four-wheel-drive vehicle at KM74 of Jalan Ipoh-Gerik near here.
Kuala Kangsar OCPD Asst Comm Razali Ibrahim said the four-wheel-drive vehicle, which was coming from the other direction, went out of control and swerved into their path, causing a head-on collision.
"The car spun and crashed into a ditch on the left," he said.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Hakim Hashim, 32, his wife Nurul Huda Arifin, 31, and their son Adib Aiman.
ACP Razali said the couple's other son, aged four, sustained light injuries to his head during the 10.40pm incident on Friday (June 19).
"Nurul Huda died on the spot while Abdul Hakim and Adib Aiman died at the Kuala Kangsar Hospital," he said, adding that all were from Felda Trolak Timur.
"The driver of the other vehicle injured his right knee," he said.
ACP Razali said a post-mortem examination on the deceased would be carried out by 10am Saturday (June 20).
He said the suspect had been arrested, with his blood and urine samples taken for toxicology tests.

The incident will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving causing death.
